What is with desi uncles and their obsession with staring? It’s a painful experience to be out in a restaurant and being stared at by a creepy uncle sitting far at another table. I want to eat my very spicy biryani in peace please! This staring and judging disease that most men in Pakistan are born with is so extreme at times that they don’t bother if they’re even sitting with their families.

Firstly, I prefer eating at Indian restaurants serving Halal rather than any Pakistani restaurant. One of the reasons is that the servers at Pakistani restaurants have a very entitled and rude attitude, it is as if it’s a favour that they’re serving there. Second is that in the most Indian restaurants, not everyone is a Pakistani and there is a good chance that maybe you will not get stared at, and as a bonus they are so hospitable especially folks running the South Indian restaurants. Masala Dosa for president!

Today I was at this restaurant for the first time and as we entered, someone from the kitchen was walking out towards dining area – and didn’t bother to even acknowledge there is a party waiting. Anyhow, the greeter soon found us and as she’s guiding us to our table this very authentic word hits my eardrums telling me how much of a Pakistani spot this place is, the authentic word, behnchod…. Food was good I guess. 4/5 for me but our server was very kind. Unfortunately, I may not go back there again.
