Log # 43

It’s Thanksgiving today. I don’t know too much about it except that it dates back to Indigenous People who celebrated to thank for their Harvest. Later in 1500s and onwards there were various different celebrations such as harvest, safe voyage etc. I’m not sure why and when Turkey’s became the symbol for Thanksgiving, I’ll look it up another day. I didn’t have Turkey but went to some gatherings on the holiday, for which I’m thankful to be a part of.

Today I was asked what are somethings that I am thankful and grateful for and I listed a few. Then later I thought I must write down all the things that I’m really thankful and grateful for at this point in my life. I’m going to list a few that I can think of now. Starting with, my life. I’m thankful that I’m alive and healthy Alhamdulilah. I’m healthy, wealthy and thriving in my beautiful happy life MashaAllah. I’m thankful for my work that enables to me to take care of myself here and my family back home. I’m so thankful for the warm house and warm foods that I have. I’m so grateful that I can buy gear that keeps me warm when it’s below -30 here. I’m thankful that I was able to adopt Binoo and provide her with a good life where she’s fed, cleaned and warmed. I am thankful that I have loved ones who care for me. I am so grateful that I have a cute niece whom I love to the moon and beyond.

I am thankful that I have a family. I’m thankful for those friends who have always stood by me. I’m thankful to my friends who were also my mentor at different phases of life. I’m thankful that I was able to get education. I am thankful that I was able to move to Canada and build a safe and content life for myself. I am thankful that I have a warm bed and blankets to sleep in. I am thankful that my cat finds me safe and cuddles next to me as we sleep. Of all the things that I went through in life, I am thankful that at end, I still hold warmth and softness in my heart. I am thankful and grateful that Allah has always been with me and never left my side ever. Shukar Allah, Alhamdulilah. Allah huma Barik.
